Posted on Updated on

May we have your liver?  Ha, ha… couldn’t resist.
Laugh all the way down to your liver when you see  hilarious comedy “Three-Fifty” in Livermore Valley Wine Country at the 11th Annual California Independent Film Festival, April 16 – 19.

Films and details of their screenings are listed here:
I don’t see the exact time and place of the screening for Three-Fifty but we’ll keep checking the site and post the complete details as soon as they share them with us.

Founded by Derek Zemrak, the  California Independent Film Festival began in 1999 and is now the fastest growing film festival in California, screening over 1,000 independent films from the US and around the world.    On April 18th, the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Ms. Dianne Ladd (Laura Dern’s Mother, y’all). Ms.  Ladd is recipient of numerous awards in televison and film including a three-time Oscar nominee.

Thank you, Sonoma!!!!!

We have to say Sonoma International Film Festival is an outstanding festival.  We had a great time and the films are excellent.  Sonoma is a beautiful, completely live-able,  little town and the people are extremely gracious.
Me:  The people are so happy!
Co-producer:  They’re within walking distance of the best wineries in the country.  Of course they’re happy!

Smart, fun audiences who are so curious about the filmmakers. Great parties, (more wineries) and their awards?  ha, ha…get this – magnums of wine are their statues with the award hand written on the bottle in silver ink.  Score! Wish we had scored an “award” like that, yet we are content with our five awards.

We stayed outside of town in a guest house with a view that will knock your socks off. Hills, vineyards, trees, more hills, green grass, flowers everywhere,  a few cows, a few sheep – truly – extraordinarily beautiful you can barely believe it’s real.  We’ll post photos as soon as we can — and we’ll post our wine notes, too.  Food, wine and film — so perfect.  Be sure to put it on your calendar for 2010.   You will have a magical week.

Garden State Film Festival, April 2 – 5

Thank you, New Jersey!!!

garden-state-film-festival2You have chosen – wisely.  We know New Jersey folks have been waiting patiently for the premiere of  “the one” – that one great film – the film to solve all of the problems of our current times.  THREE-FIFTY is not that film but it’s in your festival anyway.  Yeah!  Trust us, screening THREE-FIFTY will take the Garden State and it’s  Film Festival to new heights of, ummm –  well, insanity and laughter.  This movie will complete you.

The Garden State Film Festival  will screen THREE-FIFTY sometime between April 2 – 5.  Check here for specific day and time updates.

The artistic philosophy of the Garden State Film Festival is rooted in the celebration of the independent film genre and the creation of a forum where local and other independent filmmakers can exhibit their work.  We would be those “others”.

Since 2003, such industry notables such as Glenn Close, Frank Vincent, Batman producer Michael Uslan, Austin Pendleton, Kurtwood Smith, James Gandolfini, Budd Schulberg and others have lent their support.  And now, those celebrities can say they’ve supported the same festival that screened Maurice Chauvet’s THREE-FIFTY — that hilarious tale of late fees, privacy rights and the easy availability of deeply personal details of your life.  We know they’ve been waiting to be included in the same paragraph with us.

Tallgrass Film Festival

One of the great beauties of the state of Kansas is the prarie grasses that grow along highways and when you’re lucky – in open fields.  Prarie grasses smell a little like hay – sweet, salty, and a little woody, all at the same time.  The sound of the wind blowing through them is a soft hello.  They are full of the subtlest color distinctions of greens and golds and everything in between.  They wave in the wind with a softness that beckons you to lay down in them and when you give in to that call, the reward is as cushy as a down comforter.  A little closer to the ground — but soft and cushy.

Kansas is where I grew up, as many of you know.  And so we are very proud to let you know that THREE-FIFTY will be in the Tallgrass Film Festival.  I can smell the grasses right now!  October 23-26 is the date and Wichita, Kansas is the place.

More love from France…
